Hay-on-Wye to Hereford

Hay on Wye to Hereford canoeHay on Wye to Hereford Canoe or Kayak Route Description

Our Hay on Wye to Hereford canoe or kayak trip is a popular long section of the river taking two days, stopping at Preston-on-Wye overnight. It incorporates beautiful scenery and wildlife and makes an excellent weekend out for those wanting to go a bit further.

History

Historically Hay-on-Wye is best known for it’s book shops and in recent times, has become even more well known through the success of Hay Festival. Hay-on-Wye has many facilities on offer and is a very popular tourist destination.

From Hereford rowing club campsite, it’s just a short walk into the city centre with easy access to all the bars and pubs. If you are after the best curry and pint in town, then we recommend heading over to the Barrels pub, owned by Wye Valley Breweries, before going into the Jalsagor to eat. There are lots of other places to eat and drink as well to satisfy any cravings hungry people that have paddled all day might have. For breakfast we recommend heading over to Diego’s cafe in Bridge Street for a full English.
