Canoe Hire Cholsey

Kayak Hire and Canoe Hire Cholsey

Canoe Hire Cholsey. Cholsey is a picturesque town on the west side of the river Thames a few miles downstream of Wallingford. The village itself was originally founded on an island (Ceol’s Isle) in marshy ground close to the Thames. It is a great place to start or finish a canoe or kayak trip for all ages and abilities.

We would recommend our trip Cholsey to Pangbourne if you would like to paddle this stretch of the River Thames.

Launch and Landing Points

Once you have booked, you will have the launch and land points explained to you.

Don’t forget we also have the capability to provide canoe or kayak hire from any of our other landing points on the River Thames.

Getting through the Locks

There are two options when it comes to getting through the locks; either you can paddle through the locks or get out and carry your boats around. We suggest that you paddle through the locks when the lock keeper is on duty and portage if the lock is unmanned.

When you are carrying your boats be sure to lift carefully and try not to scrape the bottoms of the boats along the ground if you can help it!

Kayak Hire & Canoe Hire Cholsey

We would highly recommend the weekend trip Cholsey to Henley. This is a 23 mile paddle stopping at Mapledurham overnight.

For just a day trip why not try Reading to Henley or Henley to Marlow.
