Kerne Bridge to Monmouth Route Description
This is a full day trip where paddlers can stop at Symonds Yat in the middle (7.5 miles) for lunch should they want to before continuing on to the finish point next to Monmouth Rowing Club. Meandering through the Forest of Dean, this is a lovely stretch with lots of attractions to visit and lush scenery to take in. A great place for canoe hire groups to explore and enjoy nature.
Launch and Landing Points
The launch point in Kerne Bridge is on the left hand bank, 800m below the bridge. There is a car park and picnic site here and no permission is required to launch. There is also a great pub, the Inn on the Wye, within walking distance too.
The landing point in Monmouth is at Monmouth Town Rowing Club on the right hand side of the river just before the bridge. Access can be reached by car by going under the A40 underpass at the leisure centre. There is free parking right by the launch/landing point however be aware that on weekends this is often busy with rowing events.
