COVID-19

Currently we are not running our usual routes. Please see this page for what we are able to do at this current time.

Launch and Landing Points

The landing point in Henley is the River and Rowing Museum on the right hand bank about 500m after Hanley Bridge. This is within walking distance of the railway station.

Don’t forget we also have the capability to provide canoe or kayak hire from any of our other landing points on the River Thames.

Getting through the Locks

You can either paddle through the locks or get out and carry your boats around. We would suggest that you paddle through the locks when the lock keeper is on duty and portage if the lock is unmanned.

When you are carrying your boats be sure to lift carefully and try not to scrape the bottoms of the boats along the ground if you can help it!

We are unbeatable on price. Check out our up to date pricing structure here.

Kayak Hire & Canoe Hire Henley – recommended routes

For a short day’s hire (or half a day’s hire if you don’t stop) we would recommend paddling our Henley Adventure, which is a simple out and back from Henley (either downstream or upstream) which is a 6 mile round trip great for kids as well as adults. There is also Sonning to Henley which is 6 mile leisurely trip suitable for young children too.

For a full day’s hire, paddling from Reading to Henley is a great option at 8.4 miles.

For a two day paddle we would highly recommend the weekend trip from Cholsey to Henley. This is a 23 mile paddle stopping at Mapledurham overnight.
